My husband has a Ryobi drill and it's cordless. He mentioned that the batteries he has for it don't hold a charge anymore, and he'd actually just like a corded drill. Does Ryobi make something like the battery that you'd plug in the same spot, but would provide you with corded power? I couldn't find anything on the web, then again I don't know what it's called :) Any ideas?

Sorry dear, There is no battery eliminator for any cordless drill that I know if. Your husbands drill is using an older generation NiCad or NiMh battery. Unfortunatly those do tend to develop a memory if they aren't drained completely periodicly.

A new battery will take care of the problem. OR You can go get him a Ryobi cord type drill for Christmas. If he's a good handy man around the house that takes care of your HoneyDo's and likes doing that sort of thing--get him both- a new battery and a drill. You'll earn brownie points big time. Guys can never have too many tools OOOO-OOOO-OOOO!

No, there is no such device. You could probably make one with an AC/DC power adaptor, but it's not worth the effort.

Also, if you try buying a replacement battery for the drill, you'll find that Ryobi batteries sold separately cost just about as much as the whole drill.

Either buy a newer version of the drill (with newer batteries) or just buy a corded version.

I've had Ryobi tools for 6 years now. I use them almost daily and have one battery still working out of three. The others lasted 5 years. The dewalt batteries use 2200 mAH cells and the Ryobi uses 2000 mAH cells so the dewalt gets a longer run time but at $70+ a battery. If you take care of your tools they will last no matter what brand they are. I know people that have to buy a new dewalt every year because they abuse the tools.

No such device.

Get him the corded drill -- since his statement appears to be giving you that green light.
The corded drill might cost the same of less than the replacement battery.

However, if you have seen him using the drill often, and often it is some feet away from a power source, then Gift him a new Cordless. It will likely cost just slightly more than a replacement battery.
If he is a rare user of a drill, then a brand new shiny corded drill will do the trick.

No. Just go get him a corded drill. You could get him another battery too. That way he'd have two drills. A cordless has it's definate benefits. The corded one should be a bit cheaper also. Good Luck.

no. they make cordless(rechargeable battery) or corded110volt
there are manufactures that make dual operating but they are mostly for larger tools and voltage(saws/24 volt)
cheapest solution: get new batteries.
