On whichever shoulder he's letting his bra strap hang loose on...

I used to have one, and I'd wear the strap over my left shoulder so the bag was on my right side...I'm right handed. If a person is ambidextrous, then you'll have a problem.

To Gupeter above...I've seen grown men that work in the stock market with messenger bags. Tell me where the fad is? If a guy has a small laptop to carry or even paper notebooks, binders, folders, etc, he's not going to carry it under his arm or on top of his head! Generally people with jobs involving paperwork and money have messenger bags. It's not something just associated with teens. And I had one because I could fit more in it. An extra shirt if the one I was wearing got dirty or sweaty, gloves mittens and scarf for when it was cold out...What's gay is when you have one, but all you carry in it is a pen.

Good question. I suppose it would depend on what hand dexterity you claim (right or left -handed) and for what purpose you use your bag. I'll tell you what I did for me (I'm right-handed).

When i was in the military, I used a messenger bag alot. It hang on my left side, with the shoulder strap on my right shoulder (over my head). I did this because I was very mobile, and didn't want to deal with the bag constantly falling off my shoulder.

Either one. I don't carry a messenger bag; but, when I carry any other item with a shoulder strap (suitcase, camera case, etc.), I alternate from one side to the other so that neither shoulder gets sore or tired.

Whichever you prefer. If you're right handed, you'll probably want it on your left shoulder.

You don't. Its a marketing fad that has come and gone over time. Real guys can keep all they need in their pockets as they don't need cosmetics, gay or straight. What you say is instead of being a strong and secure man who is confident in his own skin you feel the need to have accesories.

RIGHT SHOULDER FOR RIGHT HANDED MASSENGERS WHILE WALKING. ON THE BACK, FRONT, OR THE REAR SIDE OF A BICYCLE IF USING ONE. NOW A DAYS I HAVE SEEN MASSENGERS USINING BACKPACKS WITH SUPPORTING STRAPS ON BOTH SHOULDERS.
