No, you can be cool, have loads of friends and get good grades. Just set aside time for work and play. Then, you will win for both sides, you'll have loads of friends and good grades. Hope it helps.

Look at it this way.. classes in college are set up by units. Each unit is representative of one hour of homework per class you go to. So, if you have a 3 unit class, expect 3 hours of homework for every time you go to (or don't go to) that class--if you want to get an A anyway. Sometimes this doesn't apply. Profs can be as easy or as intense as they want, but this is a good general rule. The less classes you take, the easier it will be to be social. The problem with taking less classes is that you might end up graduating late.

No, part of being educated is learning to socialize because in the "real world" you will have to use socialization skills to communicate and get by. I was a nerd, but I made friends and I still made stellar grades. Some of my friends were not nerdy on the outside, but were hot! They just had brains to go along with that package.

Wow, this is somewhat no longer difficulty-free to be predicted to act like an "outgoing and social" guy or woman once you're no longer. there is not any longer something incorrect with the style you reside your existence. some people are extra social than others. you have pastimes which you adore and that's somewhat important. Being depressed and considering suicide over this subject ability which you're taking people's evaluations to coronary heart. Having low vanity probable does not help this. yet you sound so smart and able to living a 'prevalent' existence. Your social tension does sound somewhat overwhelming for you maximum surprising now - communicate to your mom approximately it and tell her the style you somewhat sense. tell her which you somewhat % her to appreciate. i be attentive to that this could be no longer difficulty-free for you - even though it is going to furnish help to sense extra gentle on your very own epidermis.

No, but I think you need to set priorities & have good study habits.
College is NOT cheap & unless you are paying for it YOURSELF then partying & goofing off is not only cheating yourself out of a good education & a good future, but you are also cheating the person or people who saved to send you to college so you could have a better future.
YOUR PRIORITY NEEDS TO BE SCHOOL & DOING THE BEST THAT YOU CAN IN ALL OF YOUR CLASSES...

Not at all. It's all about how much time you devote to studying versus being social. And you certainly don't have to be a "nerd" to get good grades. It helps, but it's not necessary. ;)

not really but it so happens that really smart kids don't fit in with the rest of the kids in school. most of your time is spent studying versus them partying, that could make you anti-social, but you're preparing for the rest of your life, party when you get your career. Intelligence is a beautiful thing. while they're busy on their neverending quest for beer, you're studying for your Graduate School Admissions Tests

No, you just need to be well organized and not a constant partier. If you don't always party, and leave study time to actually study, not just pal around or slack off, you can still get good grades.

Not at all. Time management is the key. Don't waste time with video games, spending too long at lunch, or gabbing in the library. Be very focused at whatever you do, be it studying or having fun, but set limits on both and you'll do fine.
