Ashley,
I think you placed this question in the wrong category.
But to answer your question...
The world is shrinking and cultures are cross blending to where there is no longer a distinction. But the hat I can only assume was either a Fez Hat (Like what the Shriner's wear) or more like a woven skull cap. In either case...
He may have a different cultural history but was newly brought to christianity. Just because you belive in Jesus doesnt mean that you have to change your traditional garb.
I hope this helps at least a little.
It also helps to ask. I think we as a culture in america we are scared to interact with others that are different from the norm. i am sure that gentleman was a very nice man and would ahve explained why he wears that hat.
Take care!
:)

you can be middle Eastern and be a baptist, but not a Muslim.
Muslims belong to the religion of Islam so they are not baptist. But being from the middle east or wearing middle Eastern dress does not make someone Muslim.
those hats have nothing to do with Islam they have to do wit the way people dress in that region of the world. Like most Americans wear jeans and t-shirts a lot. It has nothing to do with religion.

More than likely, you are confusing "Muslim" with "Middle-Eastern" cultural dress.
A "Muslim" folows the teachings of Mohammed. One of those teachings is the blasphemy that Jesus Christ is NOT the Son of God.
A Baptist is, by definition, a Christian - one who accepts the divinity of Our Lord.
The two faiths are incompatable.
However, what I suspect you saw was a Middle-Eastern person, who adheres to the cultural dressing traditions of his native homeland, who happens to be a Baptist by faith.

They are distinct religions with distinct plans of salvation. The answer is no (although many will no doubt tell you that it's the same god...)
Probably, the guy just liked the hat.

No. In their truest form, Christianity and Islam are an eternity apart.

What is a "muslim hat"?
And why are you asking this in the Lesbian/Gay section?
