I HIGHLY recommend http://www.DependableHost.net - I've gone thru all the "big" hosts - and the customer service and knowledge slacks so much because they've got phone calls coming 24x7x365. I've found DependableHost.net and I'll never switch away. As soon as you get your account, you're assigned a "service rep" who is dedicated to your account. I get a phone call every month or so from him asking how things are and if everything is working ok. I also got a christmas card this past week personally signed by him.

I've never had my site go down once and I've been with them for 1.5 years now!

You can try them for 30 days free now! Give 'em a shot! I Guarantee that you'll be impressed!

Web Hosting is Making a Web site available on the Internet. This is done by getting a web hosting account. There are free ones and paid hosting accounts-

► For free hosting, try google pages (pages.google.com) or yahoo geocities,

It's sort of free hosting, but you are limited to a subdomain on googlepages & geo has ads on your website - otherwise I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with 750 GIGs of bandwidth and rich with features.. you will be much better off. Hosting is cheap nowadays.

It's up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name. Having your own domain name + your own hosting gives much more credibility to your site and allows you to be more flexible (such as adding google adsense to make money, affiliate links etc).
