Yes but they are rushing the production of the last few. The producers want to keep the same cast but the longer they take the older the cast gets, and the've already lost one main character.
There is even extra pressure being put on JK Rowling to finish book 7 so they can begin the screen adaption

I read that they hadn't signed Emma Watson yet. So they want to, but if they lose her, it would be too weird. Plus , the kids are getting to be a bit older than the characters by now. Those were some pretty buff 14 yr old boys in that movie.
"Warner Bros. has confirmed for HPANA that the movie will be released on November 21, 2008" -- referring to the 6th movie

Yes. These things are a cash machine to the people high up in charge.
Even if they lose out on major actors, or directors they will still make them, even if they stink. Why? Because people will still pay to see them.
I assume that J.K. Rowling has signed a contract aggreeing to do seven movies with the studio.

I hope so. I don't know though. The last couple of books are supposed to be rather violent and sexual. If they do come out, they might not be a "kid friendly" as the books and previous movies were.
