My wife and I are looking at getting a weekend car and I am looking at a 2002 trans am with a 6 speed. My wife is wanting a mustang gt. I know that a mustang is a girl's car which explains why she wants it. But I would like something muscular and faster than what the mustang would have to offer. What else is there out there that's similar in performance to the Trans Am or Camaro?

Go for the 05, 06 GTO. Moderately priced for the power. 6 litre with 400 hp stock. Can't beat it. Great looking car also. A real sporty look on the inside.

I would get a Camaro. The performance is a cross between the mustang and a Trans Am.

get the Trans Am it has 330 HP and it will spank the last gen mustangs and the new ones to plus it will have better handling.
Stock Trans Am's (newer ones) will do low 13's in the quarter mile and the last gen and newer mustangs will do high to low 14's in the quarter.

The mustang is a girls car???? With 500 HP..... the trans am or camaro cant hold a candle to that. Get your chevy but dont expect it to outperform a mustang.

Mustangs aren't girl cars. Get the Mustang they are really fun to drive and you wont have that 10 foot long hood like the gay azz trans as.

A 2005 Mustang GT or newer has a 300hp 4.6L engine, and is supposed to do 0-60 in 4.9 seconds.

Get a vette. Both those cars are wanna be sports cars. Get the real thing. You'll both be happy. A good used one costs about the same as a new Toyota Corolla.

Pontiac GTO, although its kind of pricey and a step up. I would pick the Camaro, it has the best styling and performance for the direst class. Give her the facts that Fords suck. (second to Toyota in total recalls last year, most recalled vehicle in the history of the US, more recalls than GM and DaimlerChrysler combined, absolute worst reliability)

get a vauxhaul monaro vxr. it is exctly the same as the gto but has a better body kit. If not get a 1996 crown victoria with real dual pipes and a big block chevy v-8. prefferably a 454.
