The westerns have started understanding the greatness of Indian culture and values. They have started understanding the value of peace of mind and greatness of the Vedas. The true sense of life and they have started understanding the truth behind each and every life. And these so called Indian gurus are spreading the message in a very efficient manner. Which the western people are able to catch easily.

Ancient Indian philosophy encourages to 'think'.
The student is not 'Taught' in the modern sense of the term but allowed to develop critical thinking under the watch full guidance of the Guru
It provides for multiple interpretations and application of the same principle or the text.
For example "The Mahabharata" you can consider it in any one or more of the following ways ;-
A brilliant literary composition.
The way to understand the world. All types of characters portrayed in there, do exist in the real world.
To understand the purpose of life.
To understand the concept of "Dharma"
To understand the various manifestations of the Almighty.

the latest being the 'Bhagwat Gita' slowly replacing "The Art of War" by Machiavelli in Management Schools in the Western World.

Hectic lives do not allow the people there to enjoy small pleasures that the life gives and the gurus channelise their(people) energies towards these pleasures.These gurus present he facts of life in a simple and interesting way.

Simple living high thinking. But do you agree that these Gurus after whoom all these weteners are, are as simple as they pose?
Our philosophy of simple living & 'tyag' attract the real thinking westerner.
Best think is no restrain any present day religion as so called can be adaptable and follow the path as per Indian Philosophy i.e. Hindu.

I'd say because it's a different philosophy that is divergent from what's been spoon-fed to most Western thinkers. Western philosophy, religion, etc. is falling apart in some circles of more critical thinkers who don't just take everything on "faith" alone. Sometimes, it's just wanting a "taste" of the "exotic" that hauls some in... it all depends.

It is a common psychology .. we treat all the foreigners as angels and the Indians in other countries are the foreigners!

People think of India as a magic land !! full of spiritual enlightenment.
Anything Indian means exotic and spiritual.

all these religious practitioners are professionals and have turned commercial... they are promoted by Indians living in western countries...

"ghar kaa jogi jogada aan gaon kaa siddh"

means... intellectuals are not recognised at home, however, outsiders would be worshipped
