I am thankful that nurturing Motherhood is in front of me. Lots of mothers do not take the time with their children and I think it is wonderful if a woman devotes herself to her child in that way.
I think society telling Moms not to nurse in public is just a bunch of hooey. In most other countries no one pays any attention to a nursing Mom feeding her child but in the US we are obsessed with breasts and sex; in a wrongful way.

I don't understand the debate here. First you've got the sheltered, concerned people who are apparently mortally afraid of catching a glimpse of a woman's bare breast, and then the perverts who are asserting they're fine with it, "as long as the baby shares", and then the defiant mothers who insist that it's the most natural thing in the world.
Alright, so my opinion? IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL! I breastfeed my four-month-old, and when I'm out all day, and I need to, I will nurse in a public place. I am very grateful when malls and such have little "nursing corners" in the restrooms, with a bench or chairs to nurse in and changing tables--but if they don't--what am I supposed to do? Let him starve? I think we'd have a lot more complaints if women were neglecting their babies and not feeding them than about someone accidentally seeing a bit of skin.
Don't get me wrong, I -always- cover up when nursing in public, and I don't appreciate women who don't make any effort to. But come on, people, give the poor moms a break!! It's hard to hold a blanket still over the head of a curious baby while simultaneously trying to insert a nipple into his mouth.
And why doesn't anyone who has a problem with it just be discreet and respectful about it, by turning and walking away, or just not looking? It's not like they're EVERYWHERE!
Oh, and to the males who get turned on by women breastfeeding their infants--you are human scum. Go home and jack off to your lactation porn, you sick social misfits. No one wants you out in public being a disgrace to society.

I nonetheless do :) very last weekend I breast fed my son in a theatre i do not care about human beings on the on the spot all I care about that factor is my toddler. you want the right approach of BF in public. The further and extra human beings BF in public the further and extra it should be customary. No thrill yet i'm getting a delight that i'm being an excellent mom with the help of searching after my little ones desires over what those who i do not understand imagine :)

That she is a great mom and loves her baby. There is nothing to be ashamed of, would you rather let her baby starve while out shopping. A Hungry baby is a screaming baby. I have seen it many times and to me it's a real blessing. Good parents are rare to find who will not be ashamed to feed her baby and ignore the gulks and stares. Merry Christmas and God Bless.

Two thumbs way up to Lola!! Absolutely loved the comment, and fully agree!
It should not any issue for a mother to nurse her infant; it is natural, and that is what breasts are for. I do agree that the mother should be a little more discreet about it and cover up with a little blanky just for respect to those whom can't seem to keep their eyes away from the tit! ha...
And I think it is completely wrong for any company, whether its Wal-Mart, Target or any other shopping center, to kick out a nursing mother for the sake of her nursing her infant, thats just wrong. If anything they should kick out the perve who complained.
Nursing a child by breastfeeding is completely natural. Breasts were designed for that reason.
And to those who are putting thumbs down on us who say it is natural, it only goes to show just how perverted you are because of media influence of how breasts are to be portrayed as a 'sexual toy'. Its simply sad to see those who think breastfeeding is gross.-

good for her!!! it took me a while of getting used to the idea of nursing my baby in public, but now that i am getting the hang of it, it is really not too bad. I think that as long as you are discreet about it and dont make a big production of it, it is fine. If you are doing it to get attention, well then, you just have issues.

I think it's a beautiful thing. Why else were women given boobs? I was in Wal-Mart one day, and there was a woman sitting on a bench breastfeeding her baby. She had a blanket over her, and you couldn't see anything. An employee came over to her and said she was being "perverted" by "doing THAT" in public and asked her to leave Wal-Mart. I wanted to slap that lady. Breastfeeding is as natural as breathing, and women should be allowed to do it anywhere. Would you want someone telling you that the only place you can eat is behind a locked door? The poor baby don't care if you're in Wal-Mart or the Gobi desert. Feed them already!!

I think nothing of it, and it makes me so mad to hear those who think it is inappropriate! Nursing is the most natural thing there is. Now, I do not agree with the mothers who don't try to cover up a bit...some youngsters get off by seeing a breast whether or not they are nursing an infant! I don't, however, see many women who "let it all hang out".

What do you think when you see a baby drinking a bottle in public? I think the same about seeing a mother nurse her baby in public. The baby must be hungry.

I think is all good as long as you cover up. Breastfeeding is the best thing for a baby but it can make some people uncomfortable in public.
