I see where you are coming from but what if me and my partner had intercourse whilst it was still there.I dont feel it in there and I can quite easily forget coz I feel no irritation with it in there.so if it was I would be in alot of pain?? which im not so I couldnt have done that then.If your vagina is a dead end then, then how does intercourse actually work.someone please explain coz im so confused.??

OK, first you need to know that a tampon goes only into your vagina, and cannot pass up through the cervix into the uterus. This means that it can't block off the route that sperm take to conceive a baby.
If you think that there is a possibility you may have left a tampon up there, you need to check!! Leaving it there could cause a gynaecological infection. It's easy to do, just insert a finger or two into your vagina and feel around. Your vagina is not that long a tube and is a dead end, so there's no way a tampon could travel up inside you beyond your reach. Even if the string had got caught up you would be able to feel the tampon itself and pull it out.

Nah, it's not as far up there as you think. There's plenty of room for the blood to flow freely without bloackage, however, tampons can get annoying and uncomfortable to some women (im one of them) so that may be the reason you're feeling like it's blocking something up there. Best solution is to change regularly, keep it nice and clean down there (buy baby wipes and other sanitary products), and switch b/w pads and tampons. Well, more than likely, the most time you'd forget it was up there would probably be overnight...I've done that a few times, but it was never longer than that. No, that should not prevent you from being able to conceive, but you should be cautious and take those things out within the given time period because tampons have been known to cause some sort of shock-syndrome infection type thingy ( sorry i forgot the name lol) anyhoo, just change it regularly and keep clean, and you'll be fine. As far as having sex with it on, trust me, you guys will figure out it's there before getting very far so no worries. Good luck!!

Since the opening of your cervix is very small and at a different angle to your vagina, it is extremely unlikely that a tampon would get pushed up there. If however it did, or it becme squashed and lodged at the very top of the vagina then it would probably be very painful and you would have to go t o hospital to get it removed. Theres no way something could get up your cervix without you feeling it so I don't think you would forget about it.

No, the vagina is only about 4 inches in length but also stretchy and the cervix is not open wide enough to allow a tampon to enter. If a tampon was left up there, you would eventually experiance an offensive smell and possibly dicoloured discharge.

Thats why I don't like to use tampons anymore as I always get paranoid I forgot to take one out. Someone I know had this trouble. After she got out the bath there was a nasty smell. This was a few days after her period had finished. She went to the hospital and they found it and removed it. But you should be careful as they can cause toxic shock syndrome, Read the leaflet that comes with tampons and if you are ever at all worried, go and get it checked out.

well you would find out in a few weeks after a "forgotten" tampon and it wouldn't go any further up than where it started... the cervix stays closed other than maybe just 1/2 centimeter to allow for the passage of blood during your period... the reason i say it would be noticed after a few weeks is because you could potentially come down with a very serious infection. besides; the guy would notice it anyways (more than likely) and be like what the heck?!
