I've had some GOOD fruitcake, but prefer carrot cakes

No. I like the special fruitcake that has roasted pineapple, macadamia nuts, walnuts and the "cake" part. I don't like the kind with the red and green cherries, that funny tasting candied pineapple and the other stuff.

Store bought ones are horrid... My grandmother had a recipe for one that was great.. the fruit was soaked in brandy for 2 months so it was really good.
