I've been reading/researching the TT for over a year now, and I'm really looking at it as my next car. My preference is the coupe (I have 2 little kids and the small backseat is fine for them), and a manual transmission. Does anyone have any comments recommendations or warnings about the TT's for me?

Wait just a little longer until the redesigned 2008 Audi TT comes out. I don't know if you'll be able to afford the price and I also don't know if it'll have a back seat, but strongly consider the revised version since they are better overall.

Audi is a fairly reliable name as far as German cars go, but there are a few things you need to consider: (1) Manual transmissions can be a royal pain in the @$$ in traffic -- been there, done that -- and you also have to deal with replacing the clutch at some point. May not be a problem if you're only thinking about having the car for 2-3 years, but...(2) Most people I know who have children and buy a coupe get VERY tired of the hassle of putting their children into the back seat VERY quickly, so don't think just because your children are little that you'll have an easier time of it. (3) If you ever have to get an Audi fixed, you're pretty much stuck with the dealer. Even here in Detroit, which is still the car capitol of the world, you're hard-pressed to find independent mechanics who will work on German cars. And any time you have to take something to the dealer it's going to cost you an arm and a leg -- remember, the parts have to come from Germany, so they're a heck of a lot more expensive than parts for American cars, and since the mechanics have to specialize in German engineering the labor rate is higher.

Just food for thought...

The Audi TT is a mixed intercourse automobile. i've got faith a woman can look as sturdy as any guy at the back of the wheel of any automobile and vice versa. The phased out type TT is bought right here interior the united kingdom with a a million.8 Quattro Engine with 175bhp or a swifter Quattro engine with 225bhp. Now verify out that's competitors; Nissan 350Z Honda S2000 Mazda RX-8 and so on... among the corporate right here, this automobile looks as sturdy as any mentioned above. this is a sturdy contender interior the class having Audi build high quality, surprising engines derived from shown VW engines, Lamborghini knowhow on the suspension and chassis and the surprising Quattro four wheel tension equipment. the fact there are one thousand's of Audi TT's on uk roads proves previous doubt that this automobile is an spectacular merchandising, sturdy automobile for the two women and adult adult males individuals.

Although Audi has improved the TT from it's original year it still has some serious issues. For instance Consumer Reports gave it the lowest possible marks for electrical. (this is typical of German cars)
The Fuel system, body hardware, body integrity, power equipment, and audio system all received very low marks.
If you want something small exotic and fun look at the Lexus SC430.
It is rock solid on reliability and has better lines as far as I'm concerned. It and all Lexus' received the highest possible marks in almost every category from Consumer Reports. Also the back seat is a little bigger which will come in handy if your kids do grow.

THERE ARE 2 VERSIONS OF THEESE CARS, THE 185HP VERSION AND THE 225HP VERSION, THE 185HP WITH A MANUAL TRANS HAS A 5SPD, AND THE 225HP ONE HAS A 6SPD, I WOULD DEFF. GO WITH THE 225HP ONE, AND I WOULD NEVER OWN AN AUDI WITHOUT THE QUATTRO.
