My husband bought me a hand held back massager for Christmas.

I am 5.5 weeks pregnant and he thought I could use it when my back hurts during my pregnancy.

Can I use this?

You can't have any massages done in the first trimester due to miscarriage.

Second and third trimesters are a-ok, with exception for the last four weeks before the due date (which at that time it may induce labor).

NO... they have been known to cause miscarriage. There are pressure points in your back that will cause you to lose the baby. If you really need massage there are trained massage therapists that do pregnancy massage and know the spots to avoid. I used a back massager with my first pregnancy and I was 38 weeks, I went into labor 3 hours later.

I don't see why not. Massages are nice during pregnancy. have your husband do it for you. It's not going to hurt anything, especially being hand held.

Yes you can, the only thing you should not do later on is get around the ankles massage they say it can cause labor.

No, would not use it. Sorry, but things are at the early stage and they are not sure what eletrical current powered devices do to the body - also I would NOT use a cell phone.
