For what would you pat yourself on the back?

For making a really positrive difference in someone's life, whether I knew the person or not.

For bringing someone a moment of happiness, however brief it may be.

For going to bed at night knowing thjat I did my best to make the world a better place that day, even if only in a signle small instance.

For making it this far along my personal road of life, healthy, happy, lucky, and satisfied. There were times - more than a few- (with apologies to Frank Sinatra LOL) when I bit off more than I could chew. Times I zigged when I should have zagged, but somehow, some way, always seemed to have hit on exactly the right solution for getting myself out of whatever it was I had gotten into. I certainly acknowledge the support of many good friends, and the right people at the right time who gave me a hand along that road. But I feel justified in giving myself a pat on the back too, for always having a good supply of "stickwithitness", and the determination to row my boat with all my strength.

After a day when you have taxied everyone everywhere they needed to go, shopped til you dropped, cooked, answered on yahoo answers, talked to everyone who called, wrapped about two dozen presents, found two matching socks, visited with the grandparents, had quality time with hubby and kids, fed the fish, petted moms dog, did some laundry, fed my brothers baby so he could get ready for his AA meeting, and read my daily devotional, after that, and only then would I pat my back because I managed to get the dishes done by 2:30 am. ;~}

For continuing to live (without complaint) in a country I have come to hate - Italy - because of its mind-blowing intent to destroy itself from within using no other weapon but its people's profound ignorance.
