My boss want me to send out an e-mail to the staff concerning, leaving there dishes in the sink. The cleaning company is not responsible for washing dishes, so they must take care of it. How can I put that in writing without seeming ignorant about it? Will someone please help me? Just something short, sweet, and simple. Thanks

Just say that the cleaning service doesn't do dishes.
Any dishes left in the sink at the end of the day will be disposed of, so please clean your dishes immediately after use. :) simple.

Refrain from the "mother doesn't work here" business - that's stereotyping and rude.

We've been trying to get people to wash up after themselves for ages, and nothing seems to work. About once a week the PA comes around and yells at us all to wash our dishes, which doesn't work.

We recently started a "kitchen duty" roster at our office, where one person in the office is responsible for doing all remaining dishes at the end of the day. Every person has a turn, even the CEO, and each person is responsible for 1 week. This seems to be helping a lot.

Our cleaning staff is not responsible for washing dishes left in the sink. Please wash your own dishes. Any item left in the sink at the end of the work day will be thrown in the trash to avoid attracting roaches and ants. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Instead of a letter, why not put up a sign that says your momma doesn't work here, clean up after yourself. It works. If he wants a email, just send something out saying that dirty dishes left in the sink create a bug issue. Clean up after yourself. Done.

Attention all: Please refrain from leaving your dirty dishes in the kitchen as we are all responsible for our own messes. Any dishes left every Friday will be thrown away.

The company that I used to work for would make announcements at our huddles in the morning and evenings when it got really bad. Other than that we posted signs in the breakroom simply saying please respect each other and clean up after yourself.
