Which is better between wavelets and fourier transform.?

This is to compare two sounds are tell if there are the same or different

Fourier is easier but wavelet has more applications and you can get more stuff out of it.
To compare sounds wavlet can show you the differences clearer than fourier.
I used wavelet through Matlab, it was very easy to use.

It depends upon the application: time related and/or periodic applications usually are best done with Fourier or Laplace transforms; while wavelets are best used to determine non-time or periodic problems eg parameterizing fingerprints--this is what the FBI uses
