Women run from it because, in general, they prefer their stimulation in the form of romantic stories where a woman falls in love and gets her needs met by some glamorous and amorous man.
It has been said that man's desire for sex is on the surface of his awareness (like his sex organs) and his desire for love is underneath, whereas for woman it is the other way round.

Well, I don´t know what it actually is, but still if you get all the words in greek by which that word was built upon, then you should get something like: Eroto = Something related to Eros, Erotic, or purely Sex. + Grapho = To draw, to represent graphically + Mania = Mania So you end up with a frankenstein definition: Mania for drawing sex related sketches and possibly even words. Well if they avoid doing so, it should be because women normally don´t feel very comfortable about being direct on sex related subjects. I hope it helps. Regards, Gabriel.
