that statement takes on a whole new meaning where my family is concerned. belize might be a good idea though, it might be far enough away from the severe dysfunction and histrionic behavior known as home.

Well, it depends on how that's meant. For me, home is an apartment alone in a college town accross the country from my parents...could find that almost anywhere. But if it's meant as my original home, then my family would make it very individualistic...the games, the music, the 20 long-sleeve shirts I get, and the incredibly predictable arguing over how I live my life. There may be no other place like that exactly, but I'd rather not find it because I hate going back.

Yes Yes Yes
There may be many other places to go and other things to do, BUT there is no place like home for the holidays.
The memories that linger there, the relationships that await you, the open displays of love and affection are nothing less that inspiring. Yes There is no place like HOME for the holidays....

of course...there is no place I would rather be at Christmas. My brother goes to California for Christmas with his gf's family all the time, but I couldnt imagine wanting to be there rather then back home in Canada for the holidays.
