In terms of viewers I believe the seasons of the year greatly influence the movies. If you look at late Spring and Summer, movies tend to be epics, lots of special effects, more violent and explosive and not serious movies if you will, just enjoyable feel good movies (some of the time). In the late Fall and Winter a greater degree of serious movies come out in time for Oscar/Golden Globe etc...consideration. I rarely see movies in the Summertime. I wait until late November to start watching movies at the theatres again.

Some things that I look for in a good movie is
a) The music. It is best to have original music that changes throughout the movie. Not like in harry potter #1 where they played the same song in different tunes the whole time.
b) Good storyline. Something that keeps you on your toes or keeps you thinking about what just happened.
c) Good acting. Even one bad actor in a film could throw the whole thing off.
d)Effects

That's all I can think of for now hope it helped.
