why to mess up with the traffic, if we can easily fly in the open blue sky???

Well, there are certain factors that are left out of this equation, such as, would I get tired from flying (like running).
But assuming I could levitate without exerting any effort, I'd venture to say that once in motion you'd need to be protected from the elements. If you've ever put your head out the window while your driving, you realize that 60mph is rather loud and messy.
I ride a motorcycle. I always ride with full gear on, so my body is fairly well protected. So I think that with motorcycle gear, you could fly up to about 120mph without getting too tired from the wind beating down on you. At that speed you'd certainly need to pay attention to where you are flying. A bird at that speed could easily break your arm.
I think a nice compromise might be this.

He lives down the street from me. It might seem far fetched, but I've asked lots of detailed questions and I'm going to help him build it. He's pretty far along and the full scale model should be ready in 2007.

Well It depends. Will I be the only one to be able to fly? Because If that's the case I would still need a car if I plan on taking people or stuff somewhere with me.

Heck yea I would get a car....Its too cold to fly around naked right now...wait, what do you mean you didn't say nothing about being naked....Pshhh Thats how I like to get my FLY on ok....Don't JUDGE me!

Yes, I would still get a car in certain occasions. (when I wouldn't want the wind to mess my hair!!!)
