They go to another dimension, along with the others that have died and start a new life. It is all part of the Circle of Life, your born, you grow, you live, you get old and then you die. Some say you go to heaven, that is where the other dimension is. Animals go thru the same.

Although the animals like us were created by God and exihibit characteristics of the Creator in their personalities for our enjoyment and instruction, they were not given spiritual understanding of life or death or a spiritual mind that seeks knowledge of God. They simply exist and return to the dust of the ground at death like we do. We have to show respect for the giver of life by returning their blood to the earth if they are taken for food. We must also show compassion the them as God's creation as well. We must find out the reason for our own mortality, it is because we have purposely separated ourselves from the Creator and life giver in order to decide for ourselves what is good and bad. The animals have not done this. They do whatever the Creator tells them to do, we call that their instinct. But since we have spiritual knowledge of God, it is necessary for us to not become animalistic in our behavior, but to become God-like in our compassion towards one another. If we do, we will be granted everlasting life.
