Take a course in how PCs run! People have the tendancy to think they can run 4 file sharing programs, listen to their music, play a game, and maybe watch a DVD movie at the same time, keep a weather forecaster in the taskbar along with other assorted absolutely worthless rescource gobbling crap! Now matter how much ram you have, there is only enough room to run so many applications! Read up on what ram is!

Restart, keep tapping F8 and a screen will come on, go on safe-mode. From here your computer will run through only the necessary windows application. Here you can do virus scans, delete spy-ware (i suggest Spybot Search And Destroy - search for it in google, which you can still do in safe-mode), and also run disk defragmentation and check disk (found by accessing my computer, on hard disk right click and properties, then the second option along) . Do defragment first, then check disk which will restart your computer, it should work. If not let me know and ill walk you through some more resolves.
Hope this helps! :D

First defrag your hard drive, run a scan with you anti spyware.Clean the register of unneeded and unused programs and remnants of files that are left behind. As a last resort do a backup of everything you need and then do a full reinstall of your OS.

start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore. Find a date before it started freezing, restore to that point, if this does not work it is probably time to contact a repair shop, or a friend who knows a lot about pc's.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
