Cheap plumber is an oxymoron. They will charge you $200 to replace a washer in a valve. Take a course and do it yourself. It is cheaper.

No gas fitter can do a cheap job because they each have to pay extortionate fees to their registration company C.O.R.G.I. With out being registered they are not allowed to work, qualified or not ie you could have your City & Guilds in gas fitting but you can not work unless you pay a fee to C.O.R.G.I.

I'm sorry but the phrase "cheap plumber" is an oxymoron. (Other examples, "government intelligence", "jumbo shrimp", etc.)
