I am having some friends come down who normally aren't from around here. (live with my parents)My house is kind of a mess(cant even take your shoes off the floors are so dirty/dusty. How do you all shape up the house to keep them comfortable? What do I need to focus on the most?

Start at the top and work down. Dust high places, then lower ones.
Clean the bathrooms: sinks shoudl sparkle, toilets should be totally clean (no pee spots,hairs, or smudges! eek!), and tubs/showers should have no residue if you scrape w/ your fingernail.
Sweep and vacuum floors and baseboards
Then MOP! Use a good Mr. Clean or Armstrong floor cleaner and very warm water. If water gets nasty, change it... dont' keep spreading dirty water around.

First you should determine why the house is so dirty. Than devise a plan to clean the house and a plan to clean on a routine schedule.
If the house is as dirty as it sounds guest may choose to go somewhere else.
