This certainly is one of the signs. Forty year old women wearing minni skirts with young hair-dos is often seen.

I think that a midlife crisis is about the same for both sexes. It is a time in your life where you sit back and the predominant thought in your head is "is this all there is for me?"
That's a really depressing and scary thought. Sure, you may have a good job, a home, a spouse and kids, but what about all the fun and excitement you used to have? What happened so fast? I remember thinking that I wanted another chance.
I got divorced from a bad marriage and took off to try to find what would make me happy and fulfilled. I was lucky - I did find out what makes he happy and grateful to be alive.
I know that it sounds selfish, but it is just SO important to the people who feel it. It's an overwhelming drive to see what you're missing. I didn't want to get old before I was ready. Sure I gave up some responsibilities, but I gained a lot of wisdom and insight into myself, so it wasn't (for me) a bad thing. I didn't hurt or abandon anyone, I just changed my life 100%.
Lastly, I did need to act "young" - I am young. I'm only 41 and I feel that I have a LOT of great years left. It's just that I want to spend them doing what interests me and not waiting on some man and kids hand and foot. I'm out to please me now.

She may but due to the fact that some midlife women are on a bridge not yet crossed over to the land of GERIATRICS and have a variety of different aged friends due to the fact that she simply works with these 'younger' people because she likes them then maybe it is what it is. I'm forty-two and actually have young men stepping up to me! It's not because I'm wearing mini skirts either but maybe because of simply who I am. From what I hear from 'ol Farts (men), they say age ain't nothing but a number. Maybe you should ask them why they have to go straight out to the corvette dealership with their excellent credit and bald heads and buy that candy apple red convertible. Do you think it's for middle age women, NOT!
When you want to know the truth about something ask the leader- old ben-gay smelling, blue pill popping, colon cancer having men! Sure hope that if you haven't made it to this point that your a$$ will be as desirable or better yet...alive. Getting older ain't for the weak, playa.

a buddy of mine is going by skill of hers. Her sister merely had a toddler and being an aunt and not in any respect a mommy has rather hit her not undemanding. She went out and acquired a house that she will be able to't discover the money for to stay in for more beneficial than a twelve months at perfect, she's searching for artwork in politics and she or he's were given toddler fever undesirable. She's even requested me if i'd evaluate having a toddler inclusive of her. No marriage or some thing, she merely needs a toddler.

Sometimes women are not proud that they are aging. On the average men's are attracted to younger women. I believe that this whole "midlife thing" comes from within, and what the person puts value on. (The "outside", or the "in.")
Me, I can't wait until I'm 50! Most of the wisest women that I have personally ever met, have been in there 50's! Only 16 more years!

No, It probably means she is trying to remain sane when her husband is feeling the need to act "young", and hang out with younger people, especially females. Changing his clothes buying a motorcycle that sort of thing. Women turn inward and seek personal growth and try to maintain while men act out. I am sure there are exceptions , but I believe this is generally correct.

yes i believe they do. I know that when my friends mom reached 45 she bought a convertable, got a tattoo, belly button pierced, hair extensions, and tried her best to be our friends and hang out with us. But I think its the same as men. Ive been hit on men half my age who i know hide their rings, show off their new sports car, and wear horrible hair pieces. i think its just stage in life where we all have to just except who we are and what we got.
