Okay better solution or at least a compromise:
Limit abortions to those cases involving, rape, incest, physical immaturity (aka age), health conditions that will cause the potential death of mother or poor quality of life for the baby). Like it or not those are the number one reason's pro choice actavists give so I say okay I see your perspective there. However realize that this accounts for less than 10% of abortions performed in the US so you would be cutting the abortions back by almost 90%. That is quite a victory if you ask me!
Also I think we should put more money into sex education and awareness programes and the distrabution of birth control. Because kids that want to have sex will have sex anyway. I mean if you tell your kid no you don't want them to and they do it anyway wouldn't you want them to have all the facts. That yes you can get protection but with sex comes big responsabilities for which there is no scapegoat. Educating kids about the myths! Telling them yes you can get pregnant the first time, while your on your period, even if you pull out or have protection and that there are alot worse things out there too than pregnancy! I'm not talking about taking away childhoods but educating kids for the kind of world we live in today. And letting them grow up to be educated adults.
It's a hard sell on both sides. I know pro life says a life is a life and abortion in any form is murder.
and I know pro choicers will say that it's a womans body and her choice to do with it as she pleases.
Unfortunatly these arguments have gotten us nowhere. But if we can can conceed that it isn't fair to force a child upon a woman who was victimized or could potentially lose her own life or a be given a child that faces a very low quality of life.
and also that though a woman's body is her own. By knowingly participating in the act of sex she is risking the chance of concieving a child. I think this is fair because no one has to have intercourse. It's not like life depends on it or anything.
At least that is what I think. I know there are many good sides and bad sides to this but at least it's a middle ground right? Just a thought though.

No, I am a Christian lady, Southern Baptist, and most of the women that I have come in contact with as a pro-life counselor, just felt that they didn't have another option. That is where the abortion centers also come in, they tell the woman that her baby is simply a blob of tissue, and that it will feel no pain when soaked in saline water until it miscarries, or the partial birth abortion, where the doctor inserts surgical scissors into the back of the baby's head and deflates it after he had delivered it feet first. When the head is deflated it is suctioned out and even though the mother has anesthesia, the baby doesn't. And we are talking babies big enough to live outside the mother. But most women aren't given all the facts, so they don't really know what they are about to do. As Christians we just try to educate so that the woman can make the choice, having all the facts. I don't believe if most women knew what really happens, that they would be as okay with it. But the act of abortion, I feel, is evil, except of course in cases of rape or incest or some medical issue, but the women themselves are not evil, they are people that God loves and would wrap His arms around and help if they would only ask. They have done no more wrong than any other people, and are just as easily forgiven if they ask Christ into their hearts. I hope this answered you question, and may God bless you and keep you safe.

If you are a man, you really should not be putting your two cents in. No VAGINA no VOICE in this subject sorry. Please consider the following,
What about young girls who are not fully physically developed but thought their young love would survive the test of time and end up knocked up at 12-13? Should they have their cervix damaged because they have to give birth? What if c-section is not an option for that young girl because of health risks that could arise due to poor health, so then they must force a large child through a underdeveloped cervix?
What of women who have health issues that would require abortion if not their lives are at risk and so is the child?
What if the child was developing without a arms, legs and had SEVERE deformities and something wrong with it's brain?
What if the woman fell in love with someone out of wedlock and got knocked up but their OVERLY religious family would literally kill her if they found out?
What about women who are extremely depressed and have emotional/mental issues, should they bring a child into this world or give it up for adoption?
What about women who do not have ANY insurance, can't afford it, cannot get any insurance and are knocked up due to the condom slipping or forgetting the pill? Where will they find the money for insurance? What about when appointments come up and they have to get check ups but they are broke and they can't even afford to take care of themselves?
Unfortunately the killing (notice I didn't say murder) of the unborn child is for SURVIVAL. It is easy to cast stones at someone for doing something especially when you have never walked in their shoes. What if you had gestational diabetes during your last pregnancy and it ended in a miscarriage and almost killing you? Would you risk that for a second child, possibly dying and leaving your other children without a mother and your spouse alone? What if it was an ectopic pregnancy that couldn't make it past the first trimester without rupturing and killing you? What about SEVERE genetic disorders that could easily pass to your child and has already been detected by doctors in-utero? Preclampsia? Please consider these VERY REAL situations that happen EVERY day. And yes the mother's consent is needed because she is the ultimate LIFE SUPPORT and HABITAT for that child. The moment the habitat is threatened so is the unborn child. So tell me, does that unborn child that in some of the cases I stated will threaten the life of the mother holds presidence over the mother who is lets say 30 years old and has 5 children? So should she sacrifice her life for a child that is already going to die and leave her five children motherless? Many people do not have their priorities straight. "No abortion no matter what" is what many women believed and died because of, oh and did I mention that the child died anyways? Go ask the women with ectopic pregnancies that felt guilty and did not want to be branded as "murderers" that died because of the ectopic pregnancy. It is very cruel. So should we condemn those who are married, have sex and the condom slips? What if they are a married couple who live paycheck to paycheck, are they not to be intimate because of this? Intimacy is a BIG part of a married couple's relationship. You sound very naive and childish in reasoning. You brand the women as murderers and irresponsible, but what about the countless men who ran off after finding that their significant other was pregnant? So when he runs off and she does not have the insurance for the checkups nor the financial means to support the pregnancy, should she give birth to that child? What if the woman is a drug addict? Should she carry that poor child to full term so that it can grow up with all kinds of physical issues and lead a horrible life? What of a rape case? How could you be so cruel to expect a woman who had undergone severe emotional trauma from a rape to give birth to the product of that rape? People like you have never had these kinds of things happen, I know because you would not be so narrow minded and naive if it had.
Oh and a little history on the legalization of abortion. It was made finally legal because many women turned to having abortions at home, botching the procedure and either dying from the consequences of it or suffering from the damage. By limiting women or putting boundaries you are controlling women and their options. That is cruel.

Education, a lot of parents are against sex education in the schools, it isn't taught in a lot of homes, so where do a lot of children get it, on the streets.
Years ago, when they were performed in back alleys, most of the women were married and already had so many children that they just could not fathom having another, many died, because of unsanitary conditions, leaving many children to be looked after.
It seems that we can discuss many things, but when it comes to sex it is somehow still a taboo subject, I know a lot of parents can't stand the idea that their youngsters are having sex, but they should inform there children about birth control, that way there might be fewer abortions.
I just realized that I did not answer the question that you asked, I don't think there is a way to make it illegal.

Do you know what you are gonna accomplish by that? I will tell you. By making it illegal for people to accept money to perform abortions, certified doctors will no longer do them. Which means that the only people doing them are unqualified back alley hacks who will take money to do them. All this does is create a dangerous situation for the female and fetus. Why do you feel you must FORCE your belief on others anyway? If you feel it is wrong, when you get a girl pregnant and she wants an abortion, talk her out of it. Isn't that enough?

I agree with you that abortion is murder. Its my view and my belief. We live, however, in a society of laws. As such we must live by the law or attempt to have the law changed.
To change the law required Congressional assistance which will be difficult to come by. The result therefore is to live with the law or to lawfully petition to have it changed.
Bottom line, if we live in a society of laws, we much accept the law of the land or suffer the repercussions. To stop a law, one must never break the law.
Lastly, even though you and I think it is morally wrong to have an abortion, WE don't have to right to bestow our morals on other people. If we did this, it would be worse than abortions. Remember, the Lord gave us all a conscious and free will. You and I don't have the right to take from others what the Lord has given. All we can do is know that eventually those who kill through abortion will have to answer eventually for their deeds.

what'll happen is, just like bounty hunting, some states will make it illegal and some won't, and all one would have to do is go over to the next state and either abortion would be cheaper or abortion doctors would be richer....or both! and for you who is opposed to abortion, is that what you want? for an abortion doctor to get richer?

IMO abortion is murder and all other forms of murder are punishable offenses. abortion takes life as sure as gunshots to the head and the only difference is that in the womb a person can't fight back. These people that say "my body my right " do not think of the rights of the child.
The law prohibits murder (some ones views opposed on everyone else) and rightly so but it should include the murder of defenseless children also.

Why don't we provide better sex education, free birth control, and free prophylactics? That would stop a lot of unwanted and unexpected pregnancies.
Making it illegal to perform abortions would only punish the women who legitimately require one (rape, incest, those who cannot carry to term without serious threat to the woman's health, or baby has died in utero).
I disagree with the women who have abortion after abortion just because they don't want to have a kid.... get sterilized instead.

If you don't believe in abortion, don't GD have one. Take that right away from the rest of us and you will start a very uncivil war. Angry women with matches all across America will turn fundi and Catholic churches into burning monuments to gender repression. You must NEVER be allowed to use the coercive power of the state to shove your narrow religious prejudices down every ones throat.
