On holiday this year i got chatting to a really nice woman who had a couple of kids around my kids ages, they all played well together and i got on well with her. We spent a couple of evenings in the entertainment venue and our husbands joined us. My husband is a quiet person till he gets to know people, but if he doesnt like them he wont have anything to do with them. Thing is the wife is lovely, good natured and kind but her husband is the sort of bloke you want to slap. He is loud, crude, borish and constantly drunk.
I know they will turn up at my hose unannounced and my husband will be well peed off. How do i tell them i dont want to be in contact anymore? i really dont want to hurt her feelings.

Dont be so complicated. jeepers, people today are so worried about what others will think that they fail to speak up when the moment is right.
Here is reality, You do not like the husband, but you admire the woman. Well they are a package deal, when 2 are married they become 1. So tell them you no longer wish to see hear or have anything to do with them, thank them for the fun that was shared and move on.
Are feelings going to be hurty, of course they are. On both sides. Your Husband does not approve of her Husband, case closed.
I had a lovley gal that was allways takeing me out and we had fun, but I did not like her God says this and God says that, so I told her I never want to see her again, and I have not.
I had a friend for almost 20 years, he became a dope head and then got just stoopid, I told him I never want to see him again, and I have not.
I had a dog once, it bit the mailman, that dog is no longer with us. Point is, there is a allways a solution, dont focus on the problems, seek out the solutions.

Maybe you could arrange to meet her for lunch a few times while the kids are at school and the husbands otherwise occupied. Just because they dont get on so well doesnt mean you still can't be friends with her. If you really need to later on, tactfully tell her the truth, if shes a real friend she'll understand and still keep contact.

Tell her you think her and the children are great but you don't like her husband and tell her why. She will either never come back or totally agree with you and ensure he never darkens your door again. It is best to tell her though, she just might appreciate it.

What you could do also is let them come over and then just tell the guy straight out when he steps out of line that you think he's a bad mannered so and so and would prefer it if he never came round again.

If hes such an idiot, she probably welcomes the fact that you could be a potential friend. Sit her down and tell her that you are happy for her and her kisd to spend time at your house but would ask that she didnt bring her husband along. You will get one of two reactions, she will be fine with it or she will never come back to your house again.

Do you really have to stop being this lady's friend. I understand not wanting to be around the husband and your husband not wanting anything to do with him but what about just being friend with the wife and letting your kids play together. It's okay not to like her husband and not want to be around him, but I say continue being her friend.

Just arrange girls nights so you can get to know each other better, then make it a regular arrangement. Exclude him in your plans.
