As I understand it, to put render on, the brickwork has to be "scored" for it to take, so I'm afraid that your brickwork would not be looking too good if the render was taken off.

it will blow of face of the brickwork.if it was done write a hammer a bolster will be no good to get it off .just put a coat of alpine finish on it brings it out brill.until it gets weathered a bit more.
