My husband and I were going to tell his family at Christmas that I am pregnant, which is good news of course!

But, we decided to wait since I will only be 6.5 weeks. We are waiting until after my first OB/GYN appointment.

We will not see his family for a while after our first OB/GYN appt, so I will be 16 weeks when I see them to tell them I am pregnant.

Do you think they will know when they see me that I am 16 weeks pregnant?

Its my first pregnancy and I want to tell them in person about the baby. Do you think I can wear a baby sweater so they won't know?

It depends on your frame. I am 14 weeks and my family (if they didn't know) would know something was up because I went from a size 3 jean to a 9 already and have quite a belly going. Something that would probably work is a zip front sweatshirt. If it has the pockets in front it's bulky up there anyways.

Congrats & good luck!

They might be able to tell at 16 weeks, everyone shows differently, but probably not -- especially if you wear baggy clothes. I just told my office and I'm 21 weeks along, but it was starting to get obvious and some people guessed. Let's put it this way: it wasn't much of a surprise.

I find that if I wear maternity clothes they make me look WAY more pregnant than if I wear larger-sized regular clothes.

But I guess I don't understand your question, since you said you are going to tell them when you see them at 16 weeks, so then they will know because you've told them!

It depends some women aren't showing too much at 16 weeks some are. Since it is your first you have a chance. But it really depends the thinner you are the earlier you show. You may be able to hide it with a baggy sweater. Congrats

Showing it could be a good way to tell them. Instead of sitting them down, they'll see as soon as you walk in.

Your body and the baby's growth depend on if you'll be showing a lot or not. If you want to cover it up I would say wear a baggy sweatshirt or t-shirt.

im 17 weeks pregnant, and not really showing yet. So it just depends you might not be showing but you can just wear a sweater and no one would probably notice.

At 16 weeks you should be startubg to show, not eveyone does but usually by that point it would be noticable.

Congrats and Good Luck!

You should be alright. Most women don't start showing until around then, so you should be able to wear a sweat shirt. I don't think they will notice unless you are really skinny.
Congratulations!

Unless you are showing there is no way for them to know unless someone in the family can sense things like that.

If it is your first pregancy they probaly will not know. Most 1st time pregnancies you wont start showing til about 5-6months. if you are not wearing a maternity shirt and making it obvious they will probaly not even know.
