they don't see the irony. They would like more religion in politics while trying to take religion out of politics in the middle east. It's the old freedom of religion as long as it's my religion thing.

You obviously don't realize what religious extremists are.
Religious extremists are NOT those that put religion as a very important part of their life, they are the people who will do anything to make a particular religion part of everyone else's life.
Bush doesn't take action to make us all believe in his church. Al Qaeda and Hamas and Hezbollah and other religious extremist organizations/groups will do anything, kill or main, or terrorize, to make Islam the world's only religion. Or, at least they pretend that is their goal. Some of them just like to kill and maim.
You may think that Bush is pushing his religious belief into Iraq, but it was his belief in political freedom that made him make the mistake of going into Iraq. He truly believed he could defuse the time-bomb of tensions in the region by freeing the Iraqi people. A mistake, but not a religiously motivated mistake.

Given this countries history one would think that the mere mention of religion would be enough to get you booted from office. The sad part is most people don't see the difference between the religious nut jobs in the middle east and the religious nut jobs destroying America that we elected.

Duh, because thier district full of evangelical voters sometimes, and not republicans are religous cons some are libertrarins get good scores from pot lobby, gay lobby, tax lobby, immigration lobby.
Want poltical extermists David Dukes are the extemists we need to keep out of office. Soical cons on a lot of economic policies fall towards the center than some of the libertarian republicans.I ts not simple picture to look at because some republicans are anti-trade, anti immigration. Democrats and republicans are big tent parties and adjust according to the voter wishes because if they didnt most congress members in the house would not keep thier jobs after 2 years.

Just a bill, I can see you are anti religion and especially the christian religion , but, would you tell me what you find wrong with the christian religion ? they are not trying to blow anyone up nor to kill or harm any one , they seem to have this thing called morality , do unto others , sure there are some hypocrites in the Church's but, over all don't you think they do a lot of good or would you rather your kids grew up to be thugs prostitutes or worse?maybe you are Jewish but even if so why do you want to knock the Christan religion? if you can see the harm it does please let the rest of us in on the secret, even if you don't believe there is a god don't you think teaching morality is still a good thing?every one needs something to believe in including you, so if you say you don't believe in god then tell me what you do believe in, as I feel if some one don't believe in god what the hell do they believe in?

I know making distinctions are difficult for liberals, but he's a big one for you:
Brownback, Musgrave, and Bush do not murder people in the name of Islam.
Al Qaeda does.
See? Not so hard!

I know that making distinctions *correctly* (are?) difficult for conservatives, but (he's?) a big one for *you*:
Brownback, Musgrave, and Bush murder people in the name of Christianity. (For Bush see the 40000-650000 people in Iraq.)
Al Qaeda murders people in the name of Islam.
How are they different?

Because everyone is an extremist. Some may be Religious, Evolutionist, Dictatorial etc. But, regardless of who we vote for, they will be an extremist for their financial gain.

We are at war with ISLAMIC EXTREMIST. Besides, you can't expect everyone to agree to your opinion of extremism. I'm sure you're so liberal if I say God bless you when you sneeze you'll claim religious harassment and try and sue because I pressured you with my religious rantings.
