Why do they want government to rule every aspect of their life?

Depends on which part of the world youré in. In the Philipines, the people don't depend on their government to give them good life any longer although there are those who are waiting. but majority are making their own way to fulfill themselves. But there are countries especially in the middle east as well some part of Asia that their government are taking good care of their people that eventually lead their people to depend on them.

Government is just like religion. It gives simple minded morally weak people a crutch to fall back upon. Someone to answer all their What Ifs.
Government takes away the though for the individual and puts it in the hands of the masses. People alone are smart. People in large numbers are ignorant, dangerous and uneducated " IE Terrorists "

That is how socialism works. It makes people dependent on government.

Some people want the government to tell them who they can marry, how many children to have, what language they can speak, what flag they can fly, who can listen to their phone conversations. Some people even want the government to be able to hold citizens indefinitely for any reason without habeas corpus!
That's what you're talking about, right?

Freedom is scary to them. It forces them to be responsible for what they do and accomplish in life. Blaming things on the government gives them an excuse for their inadequacies.

Same reason some children do not want to leave home they do not want any responsibility it is just a lot easier for someone else to deal with life pitfalls.

Democrats believe only governement can solve problems....and should provide them with everything they need, and if they need more, just take some more from the wealthy.

They are underdeveloped people that are still in a child like state. Politicians are to blame for creating these monsters.
