If you tell your friend first, she would either trust you or turns her back on you (because she thought you were jealous and just making it up or she is embarrased for being cheated by her boyfriend) Confront the man first. Make a fair deal with him, but make sure it is for the sake of your own friend.

I think you should just stay out of it. Its a no win situation here. If you tell her she might confront him and they may be mad for a little while and get back together which will leave you in the end with out a girlfriend and your friends boyfriend disliking you.

Confront the man. Tell him you know. Should be enough to make him stop or do the decent thing by your friend - dump her :(

I caught my best friends husband in a night club with another woman, and he didnt have the decency to go home to her even though he knew she would find out, he went back to the other womans instead,
So I told her first thing the next day, and im glad i did because I would like her to have told me if it was the other way round.
5 years on and her life is a million times better than it was when she was with that lying toad, and if i hadnt have told her she would probably still be with him now and misreble.

I'd confront the other person first, and give them a week to come clean, if they haven't after that time you should tell your friend yourself.

ive heard that the bset way of doing this is confronting him yourself and giving him the opportunity to own up first.some women will blame the person who tells them the bad news even though its not their fault.its the old shooting the messenger problem im afraid.
make sure there is someone there to witness it otherwise he could spin a tail on you making you look bad.

Put yourself in your friends shoes. I'd want to know if my b/f was cheating on me. If she's a good friend of yours I'd tell her. She has a right to know. And you have a responsibility to her to tell her. I wouldn't confront her b/f. He might just keep cheating and never tell her.

Stay neutral, but just come out and tell her that you hate to be the one to tell her, but you can't sleep at night because you feel your obligated to watch her back; and tell her.
Just make absolutely positive proof that it's not a nasty rumor. You will also need some good proof, because when she talks to him he is going to deny it; and in turn try his best to turn her on you. And possibly her turning on you as well.
CATCH 22 - good luck. If she is truly your friend, she will know that your telling the truth and he is trying to cover his A__.
