Wow. Okay well for rent try the Salvation Army. By me they have this program where they can do a one-time rent payment. I have no idea what it's called or if all of the Salvation Armies do it.
A lot of local churches and foodbanks do Christmas baskets with food for a Christmas dinner. Even if they don't if you go to a food pantry and get a bag of groceries from them you could probably whip something up.
Pretty much any local church or charity does Christmas presents this time of year.
A lot of the consignment stores or Goodwill stores will have items that are new or almost new for practically no money.
If your kids are young you could have them make a tree. Like out of construction paper on the wall and they make all the ornaments. Then even when times are good you can put up the ornaments they made every year.
As a kid we would walk around the neighborhood on Christmas Eve and look at all the pretty lights.
This year Christmas is looking like I won't have any obligations on the day. So I might go help serve meals. If your kids are old enough to do that with you then it's a great way to celebrate the spirit of the season.
I don't have kids but I can relate to money being so tight. Merry Christmas.

Yeah, ok.
Wow your rent is due in the last week of the month.
Frankly, my paycheck is not enough and the house note will be due soon. My cable and utilities are due. I have 6 kids and grandkids too!
And I have to buy my medicine.
Now that I said all that, Christmas is more than money and my family knows that. I am thankful for everything I have. The fact that I can sit in a fairly warm place and play on Yahoo! Answers shows that I have more than I need. I would say you need to be thankful for what you have too.
Merry Christmas.
Think about Vocational Rehabilitation so you don't have to rely on disability.

its been one of those years! Life has been hell and today is dark. Talk to your landlord, hes not gonna kick you out immediately. Call toys for tots so you don't have to worry about the kids christmas. Hopefully you have raised your kids so that they do not feel entitled to recieve a lot of gifts. My kids know the situation and they don't expect anything this year....no tree, no nothing. They know if I had it they would be given the world, right now our focus is making it day by day until the tax season starts....good luck, god bless....lets just pray that next year is a hell of a lot better than this one.

properly, if he develop into out unwell for per week, wouldnt you learn about it? perchance he develop into, and merely forgot that they carry out per week once you commence a activity, so he wont get a verify next week, and develop into saving the money to cover both weeks. that is a difficult element this time of twelve months, yet I wouldnt bounce to conclusions. i'd ask him about it. I have a tendency to provide human beings the ease of the doubt. you rather must have lengthy gone on your pastor about getting the youngsters some promises. Our church and our college did Angel Tree for little ones who're a lot less fortunate, no longer merely those who're homeless or in dire straights, yet youngsters with low income households favor Christmas too. I gave plenty to a collection who bought promises for foster little ones. i'm sorry on your complications, extraordinarily this time of twelve months, and that i desire you get issues worked out. I desire you an more desirable 2008.

First, have you contacted the office who issues this check to determine what is happening? Sometimes it's something as simple as a delay at their end.
Regrettably, Insurance/Gov disability offices really are some of the most heartless when it comes to Holidays...it takes a particular kind of personality to stay within these offices and play Scrooge to the masses but some of them absolutely relish in the joy of it all, as they see it.
If indeed the Disability claim has been cancelled ... even if for no other reason than the Insurance assumes that they are in the right or as was in my case ... a personal decision by one of the Claims officers that I had been on Disability long enough and should be "healed" by now...a true disability isn't something that is "healed" eventually, nor is it something we grow out of or get over ...we do eventually teach ourselves how to deal with it (depending on what the disability is) but Insurance/SSA/CPP etc aren't in the business of worrying about what their stopping disability benefits will and can do not only to the disabled but to their families.
So, if you determine that they've stopped benefits and they have no legitimate reason to have done so (i.e. you've had all medical forms and doctors certificates properly and accurately filed, you have a legitimate claim which is fully substantiated, you are truly unable to work at a full time or gainful position as a direct result of your disability and you've not been working for cash somewhere and are actually able and capable of working...then your next step after determining if you have been unfairly dealt with is to obtain legal representation. in order to have this problem corrected as soon as possible.
It won't be corrected over night and may infact take several months or more but keep working at that end and providing your lawyer with every possible piece of documented information that supports your case.
Meantime, contact Social Services and apply for assistance...any is better than none right now. They can sometimes get things done pretty quickly for you especially if there are children within the family that require food, clothing, etc.
There are various programs especially around this time of year that can assist with things like food, Food Cupboards/banks, Salvation Army, etc. Many times those who are on disability and have this type of thing happen to them, hesitate to ask for help...there is a pride factor...understandable however it doesn't help to suffer through.
Check with the services in your area and perhaps they can refer you to certain offices...if all else fails check with your Congressmen/MP's/MPP's etc as that is what we pay them to be in office for...to help.
If you are fortunate to have an Insurance that actually does work with you, as I have now, you may find that they had an equipment breakdown or something and the delay was unforeseen or unavoidable...check with them and go from there...
***As for those (adnilcomp for prime example) who indicate that if you can sit at a computer then you can work...it is these types of uneducated answers that make the words disabled and disability dirty words in society. NOT EVERYONE who is disabled severely enough to be unable to work, is disabled to the point where they cannot use a computer!!! Many, many disabled individuals were Type A personalities before they became injured/ill etc...Type A for those who aren't aware is a personality that is driven, they are normally or were -- workaholics and perfectionists. Many people would have to be extremely energy driven in order to keep up with even one day's worth of a Type A personality's routine. Being on Disability for these people is sheer H*ll...so lazy is absolutely NOT something many people who are disabled, are. Like everything in society however, the entire group is painted with the same brush that only a few really deserve...no wonder many who get into situations like this fellow asking this question rather hide and not seek help at all...how sad!
Investigate your answer and accusations before you state them...you have no idea whether or not this questioner worked his butt off for years or not or whether or not he did not only his work but some other gossip munger co workers job too just so the work would get done!!! Disability through injury, illness can happen to ANYONE. Hopefully some day YOU won't be on the end of a disability payment you really would rather not have to be on (or would you!)***
The best of luck to you querant and I hope your Christmas miracle comes to you

If you have a church, contact them. I am sure they will be more than glad to help you. If you don't have a church that you are a member of, I am sure any of the local Salvation Army or other charities could help you or at least point you in the right direction.

Contact your local church. A lot of times they help families in need at any time of the year, but especially during the holidays.
God Bless and I hope everything works out for you.

Yeah, I hate when that happens too. I just rob the local liquer store and give my kids the presents the rich kids throw out after christmas. We may celebrate two days after X-mas, but the amount of new things inside the trash just makes my kiddies smile.
