i mean this is the way its is getting, only four guys in my whole school listen to all kinds of music

It is mostly societies fault on this one. People nowadays listen to what's "up to date" (hence, hiphop) because that is their way of fitting in with the crowd. If you turn on the tv, the supposed "Music Television Channel" (MTV) only plays hiphop. Kids listen to that because they are afraid of the next day when everyone is talking about that "new video" or that "badass single that just came out." Mostly, it has to do with image.
They listen to that because they hope to aspire to what they are talking about. That's why there is such a boom in the baggy clothing sales, jewelry, hats, etc. They are trying to fit in and be someone that they saw on tv. Not trying to poke fun at them or anything, but they are posing as popular and famous people. I personally listen to everything. I listen to music for the music, not because someone else said it was good or MTV said it was good. Look at top ten shows, the only music they play is hiphop. You could see this change in music as a monopoly in a way. I hope I've answered your question and shed some light on the topic.

Because they have no real taste in music they just keep up with their peers in what ever is fed them and told they should like by the music industry. Teenagers do not have the sophistication to appreciate music as an art.

Thats the way it has always been. When i was a teenager ( along time ago) I only listened to rock. I would not listen to my parents music (perry come etc).

Most teenagers care about their image and beleive that listening to that music makes them more popular or more cool.

because some people just don't like slow stuff or whatever isn't hip-hop, and i think that it wears off on to other people until you get everybody listening to it!

of course young babies hear to oldies, it is your pals which could replace! For the previous few years it extremely is been a starting to be variety to hearken to oldies, and that i could admit, there is a few stable track!
