You can use those dye sponges made for shoes. Dye is contained in the sponge so there is no mess when you use it on your leather bag. It dries pretty fast, but I would wait a little bit before putting it on your shoulder.

You should try some kind of leather oil. I think its sold in like Wilson leather stores places like that.

go to wilsons leather (or another leather shop if you have any around) and get leather lotion. its great. i use it on my coat every few months and it keeps it soft and shiney
