Think about it when someone asks you to sit on their lap or when you say it do you ever think about wat a lap is? I mean when you stand up it cant just disappear. when you stand up its a thigh but when you sit its a lap.

if thats the case then how come your knees dont have different names when you sit down?

Anyway my point is that a lap is not real. The term "lap" is a figment of your and my imagination it does not exist.

so for those who have read this question the next time someone says sit on my lap or you say it just think about it. Does a lap really exist? Or is it a figment of your imagination?

A lap is something you have when you sit down but don't have when you stand up.

There is a camp exercise song that has motions and goes head, shoulders knees and toes, knees and toes.

During a special needs camp the song had to be rewritten to go head shoulders lap and nose, lap amd nose

For my grand children, I have a lap

Luckily my friend has a lap; that's where she found her lapis lazuli after it rolled off the table.
