I would like to study in either England or Canada, but I do not know what editors look for in journalists in either of these countries, if someone knows, or is a journalist please answer! I would like to know what course I should follow and where it is best to take it. Also, it would be useful to know where I can work, I was thinking about an in-flight magazine, but if anyone has any other suggestions I am open to ideas. I love to travel and would love to travel as part of my work as I am used to travelling already and I love to write. I am currently following an IGCSE course and will finish my A levels in England by 2009. I know I want to be a journalist please help!

Travel journalist is the #1 profession choice of journalist. Basically you aren't going to get it out of college. Start at whatever local newspaper in their travel section. Editors look for experience. And travel journalists don't retire. Most specific travel sites hire more people--like AAA, Currents magazine, travel related to the handicapped....things like that. Journalists usually spend 5 yrs of their career doing the crappy jobs--you rarely get to pick your beat.
