Through the Practice of Mindfulness Meditation, which is part the Noble Eightfold Path of the Householder !! A Half hr. of exercise (running, jogging, treadmill, the Firm, etc) a day helps quite a bit also. I run 1 hr. a day. 3 hrs. on Sat

Mindfulness Meditation erradicates stress, worry, anxieties, depression, lonliness, anger, a negative self-image and it increases one's cognitive thinking - producing Loving-kindness, Patience, tolerance, intellectually sound thinking, improvement of one's memory, focus and concentration, it brings much peace, joy, happiness, Wisdom, and has many, many other benefits as well. A person need only practice Mindfulness Meditation 10 to 15 min. a day. This form of meditation is a total calm awareness of paying close attention to what is happening moment to moment in a non judgmental way. It helps a person to live a life of mindfulness, and helps one to see and perceive things, people, and situations in life as they truly are. And to always have the ability to make clear, concise, intellectually sound decisions in life without the stresses and pressures which often cloud one's thinking !!

First I look at what is causing the stress. Is it out of my control? Some things in ones life causes us stress however we can not control these things. There is a movie I watched and I kept the phrase I herd, "can not stress the small stuff" something rather.
My kids I can not take on all there stresses onto myself. This is a learning process and I can not fix the problems they have gotten themselves into, I can help but not fix.
Money, I do the best I can with what we have.
Relationship - there are two of us and if we do not communicate things will get worse, so we talk every day.
Job - I do not work outside the home, this is easy.
If it is my health I take pain killers or what ever else I need to take to be able to move and get around.

I have cut back on coffee, which means I can sleep better. I take hot baths usually I burn a nice smelling candle or incense. I do watch a movie some days, sometimes while in the bathtub on the computer...
Music is huge part of our life, I will put on vinyl,CD,whatever kind of music I want to listen too.
Diet is huge part of feeling good. I try very hard to eat a nice rounded diet. I cook everything we eat here. This way I am in control of what we put into our bodies.

Releasing stress is what all the above things do for me. Some people are lucky and are able to take walks, or go to a gym. If one likes doing this and can health wise go for it lol! Our critters are a huge part of our lives as well.
Good luck hope this helps?

GO OUT ON my back patio, have a smoke, and read a chapter or two of my latest favorite sci-fi / fantasy novels. Or wait until my wife and son go to bed, then sit up for a couple hours and play video games. The BEST way to deal with stress is to do something that you enjoy or relaxes you - no matter what it may be. And if someone bugs you while you are relaxing, tell them to go away, you are de-stressing, but if they persist, then you might need to find a new spot where no one will bother you for as long as it takes to get rid of the stress.

I hate stress. It causes me alot of worry and anxiety. I've been working for years to find something to help me effectively cope with stress and have found that the following help a great deal: Exercising, taking bubble baths, cooking, and sometimes just taking an hour out of my day to do whatever I want- sleep, watch tv, be lazy. I'm not sure if these things would work for everyone, but they sure help me out alot when stressful times come!

Talk, eat, pray watch lots of comedies (I have a very BIG dvd collection), I go to the karaoke and turn it up, sometimes I write songs about what I'm feeling, draw, travel or just get out of the house and do deep breathing to calm myself down. Mostly I tell my husband what it was that he did to piss me off, hear his denials and defenses and If that doesn't work, I mix myself a Margarita, or Green Apple Martini that usually does the trick. Whatever is best for you please deal with it because I developed LUPUS from it and now I have to take pill everyday. Stress is meant to be dealt with not ignored because your body will take over and eventually you will feel how poorly your body did.
Hey, I'm hear for you.

There is a number of ways to deal with stress. You can deal or forget the problem, (that's number one),sleep using a light sedative, go partying, visit friends, go on a vacation, have sex with someone you are comfortable with and not married or has a girlfriend, take a walk, listen to music, clean the house, cook for friends.

Do not;
Eat alot
Be alone

Exercise. Not only does it release all tension, it also sends feel good endorphins to the brain creating a euphoric feeling. Plus while you are exercising it will take your mind off whatever is bothering you and force you to focus on simple tasks like one foot in front of the other. Your mind will be clearer after wards and you will feel better for taking care of yourself.

My stress motto for while I'm at work: Take a deep breath and keep moving forward.

Scream into a pillow
Go for a run
Watch reruns of The OC (and think, OMG their lives are such a mess, thank god mine isn't like theirs)
Talk to my best friend face-to-face about whatever's bothering me
Pull my hair out (literally)

I don't very well. I dwell on it, roll it around in my head all day, can't sleep because of it, cry about it, give myself an upset stomach and headache, etc...

I sure wish I had a better outlet.
