I cant seem to delete the movie files in my shared video folder, situated in "shared documents". I tried to reset the folder settings and tried deleting the files in safe mode but nothing works. An error comes up saying: "Cannot delete : Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."
The files arnt in use. So, yeh, the files take up a lot of space so if anyone could help me out it'd be great.
Cheers.

There is only one probable legitimate solution to your situation, i.e. if your system is not infected. Don't panic just yet.

To delete these files you need to login as "Administrator" and browse to C:\Document & settings\\My documents\ Shared folders\
You cannot delete the Shared folder itself but it's contents only.
Do so by pressing Shift + Del simultaneously which will move it to recycle bin.

Hope this helps.

From where are you trying to delete them? Are you starting at My computer? Check there first - this is kind of wierd but there are like 6 ways to access that folder so you might just start at the easiest. If that doesn't work Try starting your computer with a dos prompt.

These Movie files are probobly in use by another program. Running in the background.
1. restart your computer.
2. when at first when it starts up hit f5 (i think thats the right one, if not then f6) It will ask you if you want to go into safe mode. Hit enter. it will start up only started some basic programs that your computer needs to run. Find the files, and then delete them. Empty your recylcing ben and then restart your computer normally. Look to see if the files are stilll there. They shoudn't be.
