If the legal majority citizens of USA had rule & control like CONGRESS currently HAS, over Money/Power/Wealth! don't you think you & your family would have more equal oppurtunity and the societies needs would meant? Instead of being ruled by a Mob wealthy ruling class behind the scenes pulling the strings of politicians etc. Please NO brainwash NAY-SAYERS about how it can't be done save that for your insider ruling class calling the shots NOW!

Doc the answer is organize nationally for the common shared needs! The fact is the current ruling class or structure has to be destroyed/eliminated for they will never give up their positions! That being said we organize a new volunteer National Militia of the people! A website site needs to be exclusively dedicated with the purpose of amending our constitution to outlaw the current curruption and any other that might arise! "It is already in the bill of rights" but could be more detailed with our current modern times! Also try to recruit current & former military members who see like i do just how out of control in corruption USA is! Keep also in mind through-out the world there is now an up-rising of the haves VS the have nots! We the have nots in the world out number the true haves greatly don't pay any attention to the which way the wind blows crowd! Proper use of the internet to organize.

Along with "Wrath of God's" fine answer, consider that originally, our rep.s were only to receive a small stipend making it so that even the poorest farmer could aford to stay away from home and represent. Today's politicians make obscene amounts of money as compared to those they represent. AND, chances are, they were upper middle class or upper class before they ran for "Public Office."
By virtue of their wealth and education, they know how to work the system, where as a poor man is most likely going to be stuck in a mindset of basic survival and find himself snow balled by the wealthy. Harry Trumen was the last politician/President who did not have a college education and Lyndon B. Johnson was the last to come from a "poor" background. His father was a poor share cropper. Today's politicians are all "professional politicians."
Trouble is, when it comes to the world stage, pedigree is everything. Even in Washington's day, he owned over 200,000 acres and when visiting England, was looked down upon because he wasn't form a wealthy blood line and was from the colonies.
If you try and write to your representative, chances are you will quickly learn that you have no representation. They're too busy to be bothered by someone with no money and no influence. Our so called "rep.s" answer to the influence peddlers in Washington.
I've a friend who is as fed up with the current system as you, he calls for revolt on a fairly regular basis. So, I ask you the same as I ask him. With so many people, how do you listen and hear everyone? And how do we go about cleaning house so that we can get out all of those who are purely there for the money? As voters, we're never REALLY given a choice. Your thoughts?

The original plan was the Senate would be appointed by the Governors individually and the House would be voted on by the general public.

In way that means the Senate would more reflect the local State Government and the Governor that was elected and then the House would be what was supposedly common people by nature of the US citizens ability to vote by using logic to pick their candidates.

IN way I like the original system better because it makes Governors races really important, but that's me. Plus it would make the Senators somewhat subordinate to that States Government vs well national issues.
