Are there any statistics that measure social contacts for the average person per day?

"Social Contact" is a pair of social actions with no further consequence - i.e. it is not likely to be repeated. It can sometimes be described as an accidental social interaction. An example would be a failed and not-repeated attempt to start a conversation

Most days for me this is three people. These are my family. I like it this way. When we go to town for food or gas or the bank or something there are more. I do not consider myself shy at all, just reserved.
If the mood strikes me I can start a conversation with a wall and be perfectly happy lol! Mr. is to the point he will run into a store by himself if we are pressed for time. Five minutes sometimes takes me 30...We both joke about this!
I seam to also find the people who need to talk and get something out of there system, I will politely listen and give my two cents. Mr. doesn't understand this and sometimes I do not either but it sure does not bother me.....

So if there is statistics out there I am curious as to what it has to say....

I have no idea. But I'll give a guess based on my life, so I see at least thirty people when I go get coffee downtown, then at least another thirty when I go out to lunch and then at least fifty when I go to dinner. So thats 110 per day, not including people I know.

By average do you mean outgoing people? As a shy person all i see is my family that is 4 people . When i go out, i may see people but i actually ignore direct eye contact, so it's not like i'm seeing them. so 4 people
