Make sure you but packages not minutes.
Go every other day for the first week. Tan for half of the time not the full time.
Buy a tanning lotion that is a bronzer. That will help make it look more natural.
After you tan the first week, if you are seeing results, start to tan longer. The longer you can go the better your tan is going to be.
Good Luck and Have Fun!!!

When you go tanning at your local tanning salon, call a few different places and see who has the best price for a package. Also, another suggestion I have is don't go to but those expensive tanning lotions!! Go to your local drug store or Wal-Mart and buy a good oil, like Hawaiian Tropics tanning oil works great. Then go tanning! Most people go in the nude, especially if you're going to be wearing a swim suit, you don't want weird tan lines. Start off at like 10-12 minutes then work your way up to 20 minutes so you won't burn. I hope you have fun and good luck!

dont use a tanning salon, they are dangerous and disgusting. You could get a spray tan, which usually last about a week. Sometimes they come out uneven. You could also use a tanning lotion often found in drug stores. These lotions are safe and, depending on the brand, they give the effect of a natural glow. of course, these lotions need to be applied carefully and consistently.

I wouldn't bother unless you have skin that doesn't ever burn, and in that case, you would tan well naturally while there. If you're lighter skinned and burn easily. going into a concentrated UV bed will just roast you and give you an orangey look. Only people who tan naturally, I believe, should bother with the beds.

If you must be tan, do the fake spray crap. the tanning from a tanning bed is not a healthy glow, just a precursor to melanoma.

you can buy packages that are like 5 for 25. never buy minutes, buy sessions. i would call around and price places in your area. you can buy lotions (yes they work) if you want they help tan you. if you want to be dark get a bronzer. they are tinglers which i love, not everyone does bc it makes your skin feel like it's on fire (opening the pores to tan better) for about 20-40 minutes after your out
