i think eventually it will happen. not in our life times but in the next couple of hundred of years. if you look at global politics over the last 20 years or so , you can see a trend towards country's in geographic proximity to each other forming economic alliances(EU, NAFTA,pacific rim countries).i think eventually this will lead to countries absorbing others and becoming new countries, just like the united states did 200 years ago.

I think that would be a good thing. Now for military force if it really comes down to it like when the Balkan exploded in the 90's we have to go get our big brother the US to do the dirty work. and to get the job done
Besides that it's not wise of Europe to solely depend on America seeing they have their own battles to fight.
This could have advantages for the EU and for the USA.
But what you describe requires a united European foreign policy first. There are some efforts in that field but the results aren't very hopeful.Just look at the whole Iraq war.The UK is in the EU but so is France. And I don't think one of them is gonna wanna give up power to the other and that are just two countries.
So,good idea but maybe not too realistic in the foreseeable future.

I think it would be good because it would balance the power. During the cold war the US had to worry about the communist influence. No its like we have no one to check our power. Its like we can't be stopped we can just be scolded by European leaders for our poor decision making. However, getting all of those contries to agree is a problem in itself. Each country has their own intrest and trade with the US which will make it hard for the EU to agree in harmony.

it would not work because the UN security nations of Britain and France would not agree thus making the force null and void. It would be a big army but it wil have nowhere to fight because their politicians would keep them home

They will never do it. If they do it will be such a small military that it will be virtually useless. They are so used to USA protecting them they have spent all their money on social projects so they can have a 35 hr work week and get paid for having children.

And how many years exactly has it been since the US and Europe wanted to attack each other or do anything besides remain allies?
Idiot question.
