I currently teach local kids in my village to play the flute, but only on a fun basis as I do not currently hold the qualifications required to enter my students for any examinations. I would like to be able to enter my students for exams, but am having difficulties finding out what qualifications I require before I can do so?

Private lessons can be taught by anone with skills on that instrument. Teaching music classes or band in a public or private school will require a degree in instrumental music education...same as any classroom teacher plus specific music lessons and courses on top of all of that!

The qualifications differ depending on where you live and what organization holds the examinations. You should contact the exam organization and find out what you need to do to become qualified. You may need to become a member of their organization or pay a fee, or they might want you to take some classes. Good luck with your teaching!
