They are afraid the kids will report them to CPS, some are afraid the kids won't "like" them anymore, and others just don't care. They figure they should let them run wild and let others deal with it. Mostly, I think it is pure laziness. When the children are very young it is easier to just give in to them to shut them up than stand up and be a parent because that takes time and EFFORT.

I think it is because it is easier to let kids just do what they want to.I don't have kids yet,but I know if I did there would be rules and consequences.My parents were firm with me and I am glad they were they kept me on the right path.I am not saying parents should beat their children but a spanking if done in the right manner has never killed anyone. I remember in school when if you did something wrong the principal would paddle your behind,and even though there was problems at school no one would have ever brought a gun to school and killed other students or teachers.Discipline should be in every home and school.It is time for the adults to take back over and stop letting this delinquents have the run of things.

God forbid you show some action against a child in public who is behaving badly. That's why kids get away with so much. Not mine though. Let someone call CPS on me for a swat on the bottom if she's behaving badly. I'm not scared.

For one we have more younger parents now so of course they are not gonna be as hard as say our parents and grandparents who were way old. Even the grandma's are not old anymore. The world is going to Hell in a handbasket and our children are the ones who are paying the price. We all need JESUS!!!!

many reasons, some feel trapped, like they can not disipline their kids for fear of being accused of something; some came from very strick homes so they do not want to be like that with their kids; some just give-up; I can go on forever but I'll stop now
