Taking a taxi from SFO can actually ruin your trip. Some cab drivers ( not all) will rely on the fact that you aren't from here and will take the long way using unnecessary exits to increase the fare. You would be much better off taking BART. BART stops at SFO and will take you to Powell Street station. That's about $4.00 fare and a 35 minute trip. From Powell station you just walk up 3 blocks to Union square or if the line isn't too long take a cable car but it's rare that the line is short.
Another plus for taking BART is at the station booth they will offer you coupons for local attractions here in San Francisco, so you save more money.
Enjoy your stay!

The go back and forth may be about $20 in line with individual. they have minimum room for "vast luggages." A taxi may be about $40 entire; you should request a van taxi to administration all of your bags. convinced, they're danger-free. both may take about 20 minutes to get into the city. A inn close to the airport will no longer be reachable for sightseeing, except the undeniable truth that in case you lease a motor vehicle, you'll have an area to park it! you may wish a motor vehicle to visit Sausalito.
