The conditon is called Hemolyic uremic syndrome which is caused by E.coli the condition in which there is clumping of platelets within the kidney's small blood vessels resulting in educed blood flow to the kidney leading to kidney failure. Mostly children are the ones infected. But I think the mortality rate is about 3-5 %. There are plenty of online med site to help you now that you know what she has.

I'm from west brookfield, Ma. So as far as, UMass vs Children's it is a toss up. Both a very good institutions and have great ability to care for your child. It will come down to the Nephrologist who is taking care of your child to determine wheither or not he and Umass can handle the situation.

Good Luck. She will be fine.

If u want her transferred, u can tell the hospital that she is in and they should set up a transfer. If they tell u that she is not stable enough to transfer, I would leave her where she is and wait. I know nothing about either hospital. I live in Texas, but as long as they have the equipment and facilities required to care for the little girl, there should be no emergent need to transfer her. I hope she gets better soon. Be strong. God bless.
