Can someone please help me with this? I have been on birth control for 10 years and the dr just took me off of it the last week of November because I started having bad reactions from it. I got married the week after i went off of it and I had my menstrual cycle from Dec 3-6. Me and my husband want to start a family soon, so we have not been using any form of birth control. For the past couple of days i have been having this heavy feeling in my stomach - like something is pulling down on it. I am having these mild pains on the left and right sides of my abdoman - kinda like menstrual cramps - but i shouldnt have another period for about a week and a half to two weeks. Also every morning when i wake up I am SO HUNGRY! I have to eat before i can function and before i went off the pills i did not eat breakfast most days and it did not bother me.Can someone please give me some info on what could be going on? Could i be pregnant or is it just my body adjusting to the absense of bc pills?

Also, since I just had my period from dec 3 - 6, is it too soon to begin feeling pregnancy symptoms? so maybe it is the bc pills - or absence of them? what do you think?

It sounds like you're ovulating. Ovulation can cause a pulling feeling on the sides of the abdomen. If you want to get pregnant, it's time to get busy! lol Good luck!

No your not pregnant... Its almost more common for women who had been on birth control for more than seven years to not be able to concieve right away. I can't count the number of women I know who had been on the pill for years and they had been trying for a year or more before they got pregnant. My brother and his wife were off the pill and trying for a 1.5 year to have a baby when they finally found out they were pregnant... My best friend has been trying for a year this month to get pregnant and nothing yet. I think its going to take at least a year for your body to adjust to a normal cycle. Also I notice the older friends (girlfriend 33 yrs and bros wife 34yrs) took alot longer to concieve than a few of the friend who were 28 & 29 only took then close to a year to concieve. If you were anything like the folks I know who took the pill almost religiously... never getting off of it for long periods of time. Then I think those are just symptoms of your body withdrawling from the birth control. You will get there... just give your body sometime.

I think that your ovulating, i went off the pills recently also and i had these bad pains in my lower stomach, I went to my ob thinking it was something serious and she said i was just ovulating. Going off my pills made me gain 20 pounds in one month because i stayed so hungry, so be careful about eating so much!
