Smacking children should be banned because it's cruel. I've never smacked my child and never had too. Smacking is the last resort for people who are too lazy to look after their kids properly. By smacking a child you're showing that the only way you can sort out a problem is through violence and, that if you're strong then you can get people to do whatever you want whether it's reasonable or not. In short, you're teaching your child how to bully.
Smacking between two consenting adults is a different issue altogether. The two issues are not comparable.

Anyways, "smacking" is something that I would use all the time if I had a kid. In case you hadn't noticed, most kids these days are snobby and undisciplined. I doubt they can ban a good smack or spanking session, because when all is said and done, how did they get to where they are today? Their parents disciplined them by smacking them or by spanking them, or publicly humiliating them by grabbing them by the ear in a crowded grocery store and dragging them out to the car when all I wanted was some godd*mn Lucky Charms cereal because it had a TMNT decoder ring in every box and throwing a tantrum seemed like a good idea at the time... It wasn't.

Getting hit for any reason is unacceptable . Violence should only be used for self-defence. I know what you're saying but putting a serious point with a joke is not good.
