Listen "wind", my brother is gay, my very good friend is gay, no facination, I was just wondering why the rainbow....see, your one of those people who has to make something out of nothing....that is why the world will never have PEACE....Constant BS......

They borrowed the rainbow as a symbol of diversity from groups such as the "rainbow coalition," a group originally devoted to racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity. The rainbow symbol was extended to embrace diversity in regards to sexual orientation as well
Also, the bright, cheerful colors of a rainbow are uplifting and fun.
Or maybe it just has something to do with Judy Garland.
